Welcome to
the North Queensland Soaring Centre......
The North Queensland Soaring Centre (Inc) is a small
club operating out
of Charters Towers and Mareeba in North Queensland.
The main club facilities are at Charters Towers in north Queensland -
135 kms south- west of
Townsville. The club also supports an operation at Mareeba using a
privately owned motorglider.
Visitors are always most welcome to come along and try an air
experience flight with one of our experienced instructors.
Our club uses a 'winch' launch method which is simply a powerful winch
positioned 1,500 metres along the runway from the launch area and when
the flight is ready the signal is given to the winch driver and within
50 seconds you will be quietly cruising at around 1,500 feet above the
airfield. You really do not need to travel to ride the
exciting rides at the theme parks south to experience the excitement!
NQSC provides pilot
training courses. You could learn to fly for around $1500. Contact us to discuss the options
available.
